They engaged us to identify opportunities to make their mobile experience easy, attractive, and indispensable for the senior audience by introducing new, novel features to the platform.

I managed the overall design team that consisted of 2 UX designers and 2 UI designers. Also, I led User Experience Design that included: concept design, customer journey, personas, user flows, wireframes, design reviews, and creation of the design framework.

APPROACH

Utilizing a user-centered approach, our user experience team first developed a strong understanding of the targeted senior audience as well as where the market is and isn’t meeting the audience needs or desires.

br/

Once we developed a strong model of the market and audience we corroboratively ideated with Samsung around opportunities to differentiate Samsung from the competitive landscape.

br/

Out of ideation we will aligned with the Samsung team on a concept that we felt best achieved the goal of reaching the aging mobile population in a manner that differentiates Samsung. Our user experience team then iterated on the selected concept and created a design to communicate with leadership.

RESULT

The selected concept, "Action Edge" centered around giving users a view into their tasks and routines for today & tomorrow, while learning from users’ frequent actions to deliver true predictive experience and relevant personalization.

br/

The Action Edge is component of the Samsung Edge UI  designed to provided a quick access to an evolving set of recommended tasks.  It deep-links across the devices native and installed apps to surface one-touch actions that are relevant to the user at that place and time.
